Registration for the Fall 2018 season is now closed! If you missed the deadline, we hope you'll join us for our spring season, which starts in January. Registration for the spring season will open in November.

The information below provides a guide to help you navigate the registration process and information regarding some frequent questions about our fall season. If you have additional questions, please email us at email@example.com.
Fees for Fall 2018
You must also agree to work a 3.5 hour concession shift or pay a $45 opt-out fee. If you agree to work a concession shift and do not show up, your account will be suspended until you pay a $100 no-show fee.
Everyone must register online via SI Play. While we will have in-person registrations on August 11 and 14, those registrations will be for people looking for assistance on the computer to complete the process. We highly recommend everyone to register on their own, from home or your phone. Any questions regarding registration can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Returning Players from Fall 2017 or Spring 2018
Please note that registration must be done through a web browser and not the SI Play app. All your information from last season should be saved. If any information has changed within your account, please update it by logging in and going to your Account Settings. The only thing you’ll have to upload is a current form of address verification to confirm your address associated with your account. Log in to your SI Play account, complete the registration questions, check out, and you’re done! If you’d like to volunteer to coach or manage, please fill out a separate registration (no cost) for the adult you would like to volunteer.
New players or returning players who did not play in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018
You are required to create an SI Play account. Create an account for yourself (the adult), then you can add your child(ren) to your account. You can also add additional adults to your account (for example, if you want multiple adults notified of things like tryout schedule, team messages, etc). You will need to following information in order to complete your registration:
Payments can be made by credit cards online through the SI Play system. You may also select to pay by check. If you do this, you can mail the check to BYSA Registration, 2215 Bloomingdale Ave, Valrico FL 33596 or you can bring the check to one of our in person registration sessions. If you prefer to pay by cash, please select the check method at checkout and bring your money to an in person registration session.
Please do not opt out of communications by email. We will use email to notify you of your team assignment and other BYSA-related communications. If you do decide to opt out of these communications, please be aware that you might miss being notified of important information. We also highly recommend you register for our RainedOut text alert system, if you have not done so already. We use this to announce field closures and other occasional announcements. What happens after I register?
You can verify that your registration is complete by your order receipt, which should be emailed to you. You should also see something for Fall 2018 under “Recent Registrations” when you log in to your SI Play account. After teams are assigned, you will find information regarding your team assignment on your SI Play account. Once teams are assigned, you will also be able to use your SI Play app for team related information (schedule, etc).
If you are interested in trying out for an Advanced Baseball or Xtreme softball team, please keep an eye on your email, the BYSA website, social media, or your text notifications for information.
Fall 2018 BYSA Season Tentative Dates
Registration: approximagely July 10 - August 18
Limited Late Registration (depending on division-specific availability; $25 late fee applies): August 19-29
First practice: September 8 (This is the only Saturday practice. Other practices will occur on a weeknight.)
First game: September 15
Last game: November 17 (10 total games)
Other common questions
Can my son/daughter play up? In almost all cases, players play within their age group. The main exception to this is with 7 yo boys (Rookie Division). 7yos typically play in Rookie B, but based on the number of registrations, some 7yos might be placed in the Rookie A division. In other divisions, the only time players will be moved up is if the number of registrations require a player to be moved.
Can my son/daughter play down? The only time this is typically considered is for a 6yo who has never played before. In this case, if you wish to sign up for T-ball, please complete your registration (you'll automatically be registered for Rookie B/8U softball) then send an email to email@example.com and your order can be edited.
Can I request a coach or to play with a friend? In the fall, you can make a request by including it in the comments of your registrations and will we consider the request. Please note that requests are not guaranteed! The only exception to this is for siblings, who will be automatically placed on the same team as each other if they are in the same age group (unless parents request they play on separate teams).
What is included with my registration?
What equipment do I need? A glove (must), a batting helmet (must), and cleats (highly, highly recommended). For softball, batting helmets must have a facemask. Also for softball, it is highly recommended that all girls wear a fielding mask when pitching or playing in the infield. For baseball, baseball pants are typically worn, but we recommend waiting until you talk with your manager to determine what the team color for pants will be.
Most kids have their own bat as well. Starting with the Spring 2018 season, new bat regulations will be in effect for all divisions in baseball (except Seniors). Softball is not affected by the new regulations. For details of the regulations, please view the following link: http://bysa.website.siplay.com/Site/Home/Id/28332. In short, all baseball bats purchased prior to September 2017 will not be legal for play in the Cal Ripken baseball divisions (6yo-12yo) starting in the Spring 2018 season (with the exception of T-ball bats, provided they are under 26" in length). All new bats purchased must have the USABat stamp to be eligible for use. In the Junior division, bats must be either stamped as USABat or be BBCOR 0.50.
I live outside the boundary. Can I still play at BYSA? Yes, you may still register despite living outside the boundary. However, your child will not be eligible for All-Stars (spring only) without a valid address within our boundaries unless you meet one of the following exceptions: 1) your child has played every spring season at Bloomingdale since 2013; 2) your child attends a school within our boundary; or 3) your child has a sibling playing at BYSA who lives within boundaries (typically, a softball player within the softball boundary enables a baseball player to be exempt).
